Sam Hickey

Biography

Sam is from Dundee, Scotland and trains with the Great British team based in Sheffield. His ambition is to reach the Olympics in France 2024 before turning professional. His training regime is gruelling, that involves 3 session per day, 4 days per week and a further 2 sessions per day with only Sunday off!

Life is tough at the minute and he is a committed, serious contender who has shown more that potential by winning Gold at the Commonwealth Games with a points decision in the final against the Australian Callum Peters. This was following his Semi-final win over his Team GB teammate and friend Lewis Richardson. Whilst confident, Sam is aware how he also needs support and rather than expose the win he shows compassion and humility saying ‘I didn’t want to over dramatise it, he’s a great boxer and a friend, so didn’t want to showboat or post it on social.’
Sam is keen to attract sponsors to help him make the transition from amateur to professional – eventually becoming a ‘World Champion’ and the only Dundee based boxer in History to do both.
‘Well, that’s the dream’ Hickey adds with a cheeky smile!

You too can be involved in what is surely going to be a captivating once in a lifetime opportunity to share the journey with Sam as a Sponsor or simply as a fan!
