COMMONWEALTH GOLD WINNER
In 2022, at the Birmingham Commonwealth Games, Sam had a spectacular debut by winning gold in the Middleweight event. He has previously participated for Team Scotland at the 2017 Commonwealth Youth Games, where he earned a bronze medal.
Additionally, he achieved another milestone by becoming the first Scottish athlete to secure a senior European medal in 16 years when he took bronze in 2022.

Since his first fight in 2013, Sam has worked incredibly hard and shown amazing determination, rising through the ranks of UK boxers with fights across the globe.
His recent gold medal win at the 2022 Commonwealth Games has set the tone for next target, winning a place on Team GB and a gold win at the Paris 2024 Olympics.

With 10 years experience under his belt at only age 23 Sam has a wealth of experience to draw on and has steadily improved his art with the 2022 Birmingham Commonwealth gold win the culmination of his hard work.
A further mark of his standing was the award as ‘Best Male Boxer’ at the Commonwealth Games and the admiration of fellow Dundonian boxing legend Dick McTaggart who commented, “I watched Sam’s contest and he was fantastic. For someone else from Dundee to win Commonwealth Games Gold is just fantastic. Sam looked really good and I’m really proud of him.”
